Tobias Leupold <tobias.leup...@gmx.de> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |tobias.leup...@gmx.de --- Comment #3 from Tobias Leupold <tobias.leup...@gmx.de> --- Apparently, there's more breakage. I messed with the "Local mail" folder on my father's machine. After moving some folders around, deleting some and renaming some, the whole local mail folder was gone at some point (without restarting akonadi or kmail!), including all mails. Happily, the actual mails stored in ~/.local/share/local-mail were not deleted, but only a new local mail folder was added. This time not ~/.local/share/akonadi_maildir_resource_xxx, but a much more interesting path: ~/.local/share/file:/home/gerhard/.local/share/local-mail and ~/.local/share/file:/home/gerhard/.local/share/.local-mail.directory (yes, really). Something in Akonadi/KMail is really, really broken at the moment. I'll add an attachment showing what directory structure KMail created inside this highly suspicious folder. I couldn't reproduce this with a new user though. Also, I wasn't able to clean out KMail's config to start again with a clean one. I moved all folders and files in ~/.local and ~/.config who's names are "kmail*", "email*" and "akonadi*" to kmailrc~ and so on, but kmail seems to be really unimpressed by this: Starting akonadi and kmail again, I still saw the same folders and accounts (how can this even happen?! Where the hell is this stored?!) I don't want to be bitchy. But this is REALLY MAJOR BREAKAGE. Please, do anything about this. Tell me what I can do. I can code a bit C++ and Qt, but KMail and Akonadi is too big for me. Maybe, I can help if you tell me where to start. But put your hand on your heart! You can't be serious about one of KDE's flagships being that broken at the moment and there isn't one single developer seeing the same and commenting here. Please rescue KMail! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
