SUMMARY
Somewhen the background setting stopped working. It only shows a black
background. If I change anything (set to folder view, set to desktop view, use
background image, use slideshow etc.), the change is shown, but after a restart
it returns to the black empty background.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change anything in the desktop background settings
2. apply

OBSERVED RESULT
Changes return to a blank screen after restart
EXPECTED RESULT
changes should be permanent even after restart
