However, I left-clicked in the Desktop before trying, and no other application seemed to catch that (any way to check?). Ah no, Alt-D, Alt-S in sequence does indeed open the configuration window (Wallpaper/Mouse Actions) with some delay that I might have out-typed in the first test. That's at least a workable solution to access that one.
