Bug ID: 417172 Summary: If reply string too long send fails Product: kdeconnect Version: unspecified Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: messaging-application Assignee: si...@ergotech.com Reporter: lg_ninj...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When trying to reply to messages, if the string is too long, it fails to send on android. This seems to be because some messages convert to a multimedia message if too long before they are sent. Given this, if a string exceeds the allowed length, whatever it is, then android can't send the message and it fails. Copying the message on the text messaging app of the phone and pasting it in the text box so it converts to a multimedia message allows it to send properly. I'm not sure of the exact string length. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click on text message notification on computer. 2. Reply to message with too long of a string. In the default window size this tends to be about 3-4 lines 3. Look on android phone, message will fail. OBSERVED RESULT failed message EXPECTED RESULT message to be converted to multimedia message and sent properly Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.66.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-29-generic OS Type: 64-bit -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
