It could be a Debian issue. Clips and rendering to a USB connected drive could
be a problem as well.
Unfortunately 18.12 and older Kdenlive versions are not maintained anymore.
You can try with 19.04 AppImage. Kdenlive 19.08 and 19.12 need Debian 19.04 or
newer.
