And there was no issue with "kglobalaccel5" ever since the reboot, so that seems to be unrelated. So too is me turning on/off my receiver. There has been no issue for over 1 week after I did that as a test. Looking at the journal in verbose output, I saw a reference to /home/username/.local/share/sddm/xorg-session.log (also mentioned in my previous comment) which contained: ***** ...
