Bug ID: 415357 Summary: Feature Request: Brightness control Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: kcm_nightcolor Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: ksthiele+kde...@gmail.com CC: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY According to this article: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/shortcuts/2019/dec/17/not-such-a-bright-idea-why-your-phones-night-mode-may-be-keeping-you-awake Night mode is "Not such a bright idea: why your phone’s ‘night mode’ may be keeping you awake" and "According to the study, brightness levels are more important than colour when it comes to stimulating the body clock. However, when the light is equally dim, blue is more relaxing than yellow." So I suggest that there should be a second mode which automatically dims the brightness adjusted to a (sleep) schedule defined by the user. Currently, you can only manually adjust it and only on laptops (although there is a widget that can do it) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. --- 2. --- 3. --- OBSERVED RESULT ---- EXPECTED RESULT --- SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
