Comparison between pasting as a new layer and as a new reference image -

Is that *really* just a wish? I don't move it, scale it or transform in any way
and I still get blurred results.
Since it might be relevant, I'm checking it on my 4K screen with scaled UI and
"enable HiDPI" in Krita turned on.
