A solution is to change the type of association line to 'Spline', which gives
you control points for each line. This makes it easy to adjust individual
lines.

To use 'spline' association line type by default you can set "Create new
association lines as" in the main page of the settings dialog.

Please note that there is currently a bug with to setting the default line
style mode. See bug 414520 for details, which has been already fixed in git
branch release/19.12.
