I finally experimented KDenlive 19.08.3.exe on Windows, it is the very same
problem :
- when I use the menu "Timeline/Fit zoom to project", there is no change in the
slider at the bottom right of the screen.
So, this is not related to Linux or Windows. There is something missing in the
chain of actions of this menu item.
