That's great news.

 But I still think that there should be a tool for the user to choose his own
video thumbnail (after the automatic mechanism). A thumbnail is useful for
quick recognition of the video file. But what if the automatic mechanism
chooses a part of the video that has no meaning for the user. If the user could
choose which part of the video would be the thumbnail, then the user could
choose a frame that could give all the info he needs to recognize what this
video is all about just by the thumbnail information.

 And a question: What will happen to the videos that are already imported to
digikam and, due to this bug, got a black thumbnail? Will they be renewed with
6.4.0? Will updating to 6.4.0 change the thumbnails of what's already imported
or we will have to deal with black thumbnails for the videos which where
imported with the bugged versions? If there was a tool for the user to
customize video thumbnails this would be an easy fix.
