Bug ID: 412886 Summary: image thumbnails: many don't show Product: dolphin Version: 19.08.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: icons mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: la...@thehaverkamps.net CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 123167 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123167&action=edit screenshot of small directory containg a few jpg's SUMMARY On both the Desktop and in Dolphin, some images do thumbnail, while others do not. They're not different file-types: Some jpgs thumbnail, while other jpgs in the exact same directory don't. Some pngs thumbnail, while other pngs in the exact same directory don't. There isn't a big difference in file size, so that shouldn't be the issue. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin to any directory containing images, or just look at the Desktop if it has images. OBSERVED RESULT most jpg's and png's are not thumnailed, the theme icon represents most images in most directories EXPECTED RESULT Thumbnails SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE-Neon Version 5.16.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This was a recent install of KDE-Neon within the last month or two. Re-naming an image (not the filetype, just the name) will often allow SOME of the images in that directory to be displayed--but usually not all--even of the same type (jpg for example). This is not a networking issue--these are local folders & files in the user's home directory. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
