Thanks for the prompt reply. It's a slow and painful process to upgrade to
18.04 or will be for 20.04 when it comes out as my current system is setup the
way I want and to upgrade requires a complete restart. The issue is unfortunate
as this is the exact reason AppImage was created, to supply libs not available
through backporting. 

I guess I will have to experience some extreme pain and move with the times!
:-(

Ideally, I'd like to learn to compile and create an AppImage myself, however
thus far it's been a steep learning curve and I've been unsuccessful.
