I enable animations since this is the default behavior and allows you to see the problem better. It may be hard to fix though. If you go to the desktop grid, you will see that the task list is the same for each desktop and it has to update every time you switch desktops. This is how the dock is designed. I am not sure if it is feasible to fix this given the architecture.
