I removed 4 xcf files with problem (see above), then, i could successfully
update finger prints.
I have many other xcf files but these 4 xcf files cause a problem. They are big
files, about 88 Mo each.
May be corrupted files? => I reopened them with Gimp, overwrite them. No
change, except their size is reduced to about 75 mo.

To get rid of this issue, i removed these 4 files from album.
Digikam works now: i can update albums and finger prints "normally"
