Summary: Had to delete configs in order to use my laptop
                    display
           Product: KScreen
           Version: 5.16.3
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: common
          Assignee: se...@kde.org
          Reporter: eyadqur...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Hello,

KScreen made me a config file that permanently disables my laptop display
unless I actually delete a particular config file in "~/.local/share/kscreen".
Unless I delete this config file, my external display works fine but my laptop
display stays black. I have NEVER edited this file by hand.

I am not sure if this is a one time thing or an actual bug, so I am filing this
bug report. Of course deleting the file fixes everything. I had the same setup
for a few releases. I extend the display upwards as my external monitor is
above my laptop display.

KScreen config file:

Some hardware info:
https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/537013-Display-Laptop-display-does-not-work-in-Kwin-Wayland?p=2910338#post2910338

I have other KScreen config files but deleting them shows no effect that I can
notice.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Restore bad config file
2. Log out
3. Log in

OBSERVED RESULT
Laptop display is disabled. If I try to renable it using the Display module in
System Settings, both displays either go black or just show three periods
("...").

EXPECTED RESULT
Display extended upwards.
