Based on Patrick's information (Thanks!), this issue is 100% reproducible for
me with the following steps to reproduce.
1. Open the Riot app, which display a system tray icon
2. suspend compositing with Alt+Shift+F12
3. kwin_x11 --replace
The black or invisible square that accepts mouse input will then appear in the
top-left corner of the screen.
