Bug ID: 409516 Summary: [Wayland] Windows never start maximized Product: kwin Version: 5.16.2 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: s.scalabri...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I open any program in the Xorg session (e.g., Kate), KWin remembers the geometry of the window from the last time I used the same program and it re-applies it to the current window. Specifically, if the window was maximized in a previous working session, when I open the same program again the window is maximized. This does not happen in Wayland. Instead, the window is close to being maximized (same size of the screen), but it is not. This is not nitpicking, it affects usability and I find it really annoying: I usually move the mouse pointer straight to the upper-left corner of the screen to close a window; however, if the window is not actually maximized, the close button is not focused and I have to slightly move the mouse lower-right to close the window. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kate in a Wayland session 2. Maximize the window 3. Close Kate 4. Open Kate again OBSERVED RESULT The window is not maximized, i.e., if you open the context menu on the window's title bar, "Maximise" is not checked. EXPECTED RESULT The window should be actually maximized, i.e., if you open the context menu on the window's title bar, "Maximise" should be checked. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.1.15-arch1-1-ARCH KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0 Qt Version: 5.13.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The only KWin script enabled is "Enforces Window Decorations on GTK+ window" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
