Use select-all or deselect to change that. Note that you do not need to install Krita: you can use the portable zip version, which you can just unpack somewhere, like on your desktop. Since 4.2.1 doesn't run, please download 4.1.7 again (https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4.1.7/) and add the contents of the help->system information for bug reports to this bug report.
