sb <born_in_a_fact...@gmx.net> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |born_in_a_fact...@gmx.net --- Comment #3 from sb <born_in_a_fact...@gmx.net> --- Being able to double click an empty area in the File Explorer to go to the parent folder was hands down the best feature in Clover (Application to add Chrome-like tabs to MS File Explorer) and I really do miss this feature in Dolphin. It is one of those features you never knew you'd need until you have it. It enables the user to navigate through their folder structure very, very quickly and efficiently using only the mouse. I understand that there are already several ways to achieve the same result but having this implemented would be a big QoL improvement! Alt + Up: Requires both hands, which means you have to let go of the mouse, press the keys and then grab it again to continue navigating. This is really clunky and you get tired of it pretty fast when you have to do this multiple times. Not a good user experience. Clicking the Go up-button: The button could be on the other end of the screen from your cursor or, like in my Manjaro KDE, could be hidden by default. And even if the button is displayed and not that far away, you are still required to move the cursor away from the View and hit a small (just guessing) 32x32px button and then move back into the View. Clicking the parent directory in the Location bar: Almost the same as the Go up-button and although it is a bit closer to the View, the parent directory's position changes when you change directories. So there is a tiny small amount of extra effort involved. Using BACK instead of UP: Even if many mice have convenient Back-buttons or you can hit Backspace with the hand not holding the mouse: BACK is not always the same as UP. When it is, it's fine. Double-clicking empty area in View: You only have to move the cursor by a few pixels until there is no icon or text under it and double-click. If you have a big View but only a few files and folders, it is convenient to just aimlessly move the cursor somewhere over background and not having click a small target. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
