Bug ID: 408626 Summary: Please support pinyin (chinese) input natively Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: a...@polverini.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I need to add pinyin input to my system and I'm unable to: it's such a mess that it's totally impossible to understand how to proceed. Every distro packaging KDE has different instructions and there are so many options that one is unable to understand what works or not, or what is better than other. EXPECTED RESULT I expect to be able to add pinyin support (needed for more than 1 billion chinese out there) in the control panel just as any other configuration. I tried ibus, fcitx, fcitx5, xim, uim and some other random packages but nothing worked: some of them are incomplete, some have no english translation, some others conflicts and so on. A complete and unusable total mess. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 18.12.3 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58 Qt Version: 5.12 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
