Summary: color saturation in blurred regions is higher than
                    expected

           Version: 5.16.0
          Platform: Archlinux Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: compositing

demonstration of blur color saturation on affected system

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make some blurred + transparent region visible

OBSERVED RESULT
region behind blurred + transparent region is significantly more saturated than
the actual region, making dark areas look almost black and ligher areas
completely white. This is compounded when blurred regions are stacked.

EXPECTED RESULT
saturation appears similar to background region on average

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: kernel 5.1.8
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 5.16.0 (present in 5.15.9/5.16 beta)
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0
Qt Version: Qt 5.12.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is on a machine with an i7 7700HQ with integrated intel graphics, it is
not reproduceable with identical binaries on a machine with a Nehalem era Xeon
and Polaris AMD graphics (amdgpu driver)

This occurs on fresh kde configs with a new user, as well as with older
configs.
