Nate Graham <n...@kde.org> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |n...@kde.org Component|general |Desktop Containment Ever confirmed|0 |1 Summary|Plasma5: "move to trash" |Plasma5: Trash can on |option enabled for |desktop created using a |Trash-bin itself |Desktop file rather than | |the Trashcan widget shows | |inappropriate context menu Assignee|k...@davidedmundson.co.uk |se...@kde.org Status|REPORTED |CONFIRMED --- Comment #1 from Nate Graham <n...@kde.org> --- That's because that particular trash is actually a Desktop file, which is just a text file that gets interpreted to mimic a trash. So technically, it's correct for the context menu to show a bunch of file-related actions. However this is obviously a somewhat odd user experience. We actually already have a better user experience for "trash-on-the-desktop": add the "Trashcan" widget to the desktop. This widget has all the same functionality as well as a more appropriate trash-specific context menu. Maybe we should have Plasma intelligently sense when a user is trying to add the trash to the desktop in a way that would create a desktop file for it, and instead create a new Trashcan widget. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
