I discovered that KDevelop is not the only application with this Chinese input issue, but when other applications use the latest compiled libraries, Chinese input works perfectly, with the only exception of KDevelop. I am using the official KDevelop AppImage, KDevelop-5.3.2-x86_64.AppImage, and made some extra changes/tweaks/operations to it. In addition, I installed an extra version (official package) from Debian, and Chinese input still does not work.
