If you mean the Kubuntu version, it is 18.04 (the last LTS) updated daily; I should prefer not to abandon an LTS If you mean the KDE version (5.12.7) the only thing I can do (this is my home/office machine) without risk is to enable the Kubuntu backports ppa; but I don't know which Kde version will be installed.
