I had the same issue with opening links from Calibre Ebook Viewer in Google
Chrome Stable. It was resolved after adding a '%U' to the commandline flag.
'/usr/bin/google-chrome-stable --allow-running-insecure-content' ==>
'/usr/bin/google-chrome-stable %U --allow-running-insecure-content'.
