Just when I upgrade the package I usually try "latte-dock -r" to replace the running instance with upgraded one. That's where I find out if it works or not. If it doesn't I have to clear the cache. So it would be convenient to do this in one go. However additional switch is perfectly OK with me. Would just do "latte-dock -r -cc".
