Setting the delay to 200ms or 2000ms or 5000ms doesn't change anything. But I tried again to place the dock to the left side with 2000ms and "kwin edge activation" disabled, and I notice that it is working too if the pointer of the mouse is not placed against the edge but one pixel away from the edge.
