All I intended was to express my dissatisfaction as a user that KDE, while being the most elegant and polished desktop environment, was lacking essential native applications. The problem with non-KDE applications is that they are less well integrated with the desktop environment (albeit there is quite some effort to integrate Firefox). The question is whether the focus is in the right place. A lot of effort seems to go into less essential (IMHO) stuff like plasma mobile or kitinerary, which are only relevant to a relatively small number of people, while essential applications like the KDE PIM suite are poorly maintained or entirely unmaintained.
