I reinstalled the official 6.0.0-beta3 PKG under my Macbook pro, and application can be started without problem: https://www.flickr.com/photos/digikam/46491490172/in/dateposted/ digiKam is installed in /opt/digikam. remove this directory (need sudo to clean) and reinstall the PKG.
