It's not that the text doesn't fit, but the buttons don't fit.
Because the buttons don't fit, the viewport is bigger so the text wraps to fill
that.
We typically don't resize KCMs (or plasma equivalent) to the new minimum size
when we load a new tab to stop things jumping around - but you're right that
this looks pretty rubbish.

For historical reasons it's kept under klipper.
