Bug ID: 402023 Summary: main menu translation of digiKam Product: i18n Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: de Assignee: kde-i18n...@kde.org Reporter: metzping...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I'm opening a bug report, though it's more of a question as well. I am a developer at digiKam. At the moment our main menu is not translated, for me not in German and also Gilles can reproduce it in French. We write the menu entries in the *.rc files for "Edit", "View" and "Settings" (name="Edit") on the first letter with a capital letter. These entries have not been translated for some time. If I look in the *.po files, these entries are still present but commented out. When I lowercase them, the translation is resorted to by the system. However, the entries "Edit" and "View" move first to the left in the menu. Certainly, this should ensure a standard that consists of "File", "Edit" and "View". DigiKam but has no file menu and thus the position at the beginning is not really good for digiKam. My question: Is it possible to re-enable the translation in the digiKam *.po file? I realize that probably double translations should be avoided. Is there a way to prevent "Edit" and "View" from being automatically moved to the left in the main menu?
