Install gnome-disks and plug in some sort of removable media (usb, sata drive, etc) 2. Run either SMART tests or secure wipe the drive using gnome-disks 3. kill plasmashell and try to restart OBSERVED RESULT Plasmashell does not start with this output https://pastebin.com/raw/hGf2JjCV (If plasmashell is kept open it does not respond/is frozen) EXPECTED RESULT Plasmashell should start SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.44.0 Qt Version: 5.9.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387086 I think this is the same issue Kernel: Linux 4.15.0-39-generic.
