Leaving me with no other option, but to apologise for this post, admit, that it was written out of pure frustration, and declare unreservedly that this must be either a system bug, or some bug in the greater Ubuntu OS and to admit that the original bug now exists in some way or form in an environment outside of KDE. Since this bug was blamed squarely on KDE - I no longer believe this is the fault of KDE alone.
