            Bug ID: 400619
Summary: deleting custom effects not handled correctly
           Product: kdenlive
           Version: 18.08.2
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Effects & Transitions
          Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
          Reporter: kde-b...@adamspiers.org
  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Create a custom effect
2. Apply it to a clip
3. Delete the custom effect
4. Save the project
5. Restart kdenlive
6. Reload the project

OBSERVED RESULT

Dialog box appears saying something like "Effect crop:test not found in MLT, it
was removed from this project". After clicking the OK button (which is the
only option), the effect is no longer applied to the clip.

EXPECTED RESULT

Any effects remain applied indefinitely after a custom effect is removed.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS

Seen in both 18.08.2 AppImage, and 18.04.03 installed from Packman rpms on
openSUSE 15.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This effectively makes renaming a custom effect a destructive operation,
because the only way to do it is to save a new custom effect with the new name
and then delete the old custom effect. This is particularly inconvenient if
the custom effect is applied to many clips, because then you have to manually
reapply the renamed custom effect to each clip.
