Apper 0.9.1 will not add, remove or update software.  After requesting a
password, a popup menu appears which says "There is no network connection
available.  Please check your connection settings and try again."  The network
connection is working and I can use apt-get, a web browser, etc.

Reproducible: Always




Prior to encountering this issue with apper, I manually installed google chrome
with dkpg.
