Aside from doing more backups :-) the first thing I would do is to see if it
also crashes using a file instead of a database.  If it works with a file, but
crashes with the database, that helps focus where to look for the problem.  You
might also try testing with a newly created (and thus essentially empty) file
and database.  That would show whether the crash has anything to do with your
data or not.
