@nate: it's actually not really a ubuntu problem, but was indirectly caused by
us: it addresses an issue with one of our PPA repositories we maintain for
ubuntu users, to offer them RKWard builds for the most recent stable R release
(instead of the version that comes with ubuntu and soon lacks behind):

rebuilding our package and thus updating the dependencies should fix it.
