Are we talking about the login screen or the lock screen?
The login screen is what you see when you turn on the computer. It has a
blurred image background and shows the password field by default. The password
field disappears after 50 seconds.
The lock screen is what you see after your computer locks or goes to sleep. It
shows an image background by default, and reveals the password field only after
any input (keyboard or mouse).
Can you confirm which one has the problem you're describing?
