            Bug ID: 397873
Summary: Regional Settings are not easy to configure and
                    language gets changed by accident
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: 5.13.4
          Platform: Slackware Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: kcm_language
          Assignee: h...@kde.org
          Reporter: britalme...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hello,

I have just switched from kde4 to kde5.
(I needed to change all settings again, as there was no process to migrate my
settings)

When setting the locale for the currency and numeric representation, I
accidentally set also the language. It is not very visible that this affects
also the language and, since it requires a restart, it was hard to find that
this was the setting that changed my system language while having the interface
in another language.
This didn't happen before because I did not have the international package, I
guess.

My suggestion:
Allow to choose a local by country, or keep the default. As is.
Allow to override any of the definitions manually, where:
- the language is included,
- you can simply type things such as "€" or "yyyy-mm-dd" for short and long
formats, instead of having to grab a random country that matches what I want.

This would be more integrated with the preview as well.
Also notice that the preview text is not currently affected by switching the
language, making it additionally hard to notice that change.
