Think of it like programs: if a program is open, you can CLOSE it to make it stop running, but leave it available on your computer. If you UNINSTALL the program, it will be removed from the computer entirely and you will not be able to open it again. If you just want to close/remove all instances of a widget, you don't need to uninstall it. Are you looking for a way to close/remove all instances of a widget?
