Can confirm this is still an issue in Ubuntu 18.04 using:
sudo 1.8.21p2
Qt: 4.8.7
KDE Development Platform: 4.14.38
KDE su: 1.0
I don't think this particular patch will work in all cases, and needs to handle
extra text to be inputted and the response to be passed to sudo.
What I did is use an extra prompt after the standard prompt (I installed
libpam-google-authenticator) but I think it comes under the same use case.
