I am using the "Show FPS" desktop effect, which I know isn't a totally accurate benchmark, but for some reason every time I restart my machine and login, the FPS is capped at 60. The moment I do a "kwin --replace", the cap instead becomes 75... I then decided to do a test with vsynctester.com in Chrome. On a fresh boot, Chrome will report 60FPS in vsynctester. After a "kwin --replace", Chrome will report 143Hz, even though Kwin itself is running at 75.
