Thank you for your suggestion, but I have to turn it down. Overlapping shadows
are not an issue - that's what window shadows do - and the menu is cascading
for convenience as well as to satisfy a particular issue.
I know the VDG is in the early design stages of a new convergent menu design
they call "Liftoff". Maybe you want to get into contact with the VDG and help
out there?
