Yes it's my primary and only panel.

Firefox "wants attention" any time I move the mouse off it without one mouse
event position being on the border (ie if I move the mouse quickly), no idea
why. Also konsole and kvirc often want attention as do various other apps.

I don't know what a SNI is, but this is on a desktop and the only battery
notifications are for my mouse, which goes for about a year on one battery so
popup notifications for that aren't a problem.

I wouldn't mind at all if the panel popped out for a few seconds when something
wanted attention, or even stayed out until I mouseover-mouseoff (which worked
in kde4) - but having the panel remain visible until I focus every single thing
that wants attention is extremely irritating.

The whole reason I want it to autohide is so I can have more uncluttered
desktop space, and as I don't use the panel that often, having it jump out and
*cover things* until I've well and truly interrupted my workflow is a big
problem for me.

The attached patch has quite completely solved my issue, although I completely
understand that it's not the correct solution and states as much in my first
post :)

Perhaps I'll keep it in my local patch list until I (or someone) works out a
more acceptable/generic way to fix this.
