Bug ID: 393954 Summary: Rules dialog shows unresponsive, uncloseable information message on startup Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: rules Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: rula...@wp.pl Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 112468 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=112468&action=edit KWin rules dialog with unresponsive info message Important: in this bug report I will be using «this markup» to indicate UI strings back-translated from Polish; they may be slightly different from their English originals. Summary: KWin rules dialog is unusable due to an initially showing information message dialog that is completely unresponsive and cannot be dismissed. Steps to reproduce: 1. Click on the title bar of any window 2. Choose «More actions» -> «Additional program settings» from the context menu Behavior up to the point of manifestation of the bug: Immediately an information message dialog appears saying «This dialog window lets you change settings for a specific window or program. Find the setting you want to change, activate it with the checkbox and choose an applying policy and a value». The dialog contains a «Don't show this message again» checkbox and an «OK» button. Expected behavior: The information message dialog should respond to user input. Actual behavior: The information dialog (except for the window frame and buttons on it) is completely unresponsive to user input. No interface element on it reacts to clicking with the mouse, pressing Enter or pressing Escape. The Tab key does not cause the focus to move between the checkbox and the button. The text of the dialog is not selectable with the mouse (not sure if that is relevant). Additionally, clicking on the dialog's frame close button results in the unresponsive program warning dialog («"kwin_rules_dialog" is not responding»). The unresponsive program warning dialog is **itself** unresponsive, ad infinitum. The only way to dismiss these dialogs is to use xkill. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
