Thanks, I see.
There was never any notification for when you triggered the snapshot from the
dialog. The notification will only appear in case you use one of the global
shortcuts, i.e. to capture a screenshot without using the dialog at all. This
was always the case and has not changed recently.
As for drag-and-drop, you should be able to grab the image displayed in
Spectacle's dialog.
