This is a possible duplicate of #229082 and #261648 (both are for KDE 4 version
and closed)
In Summary, Upcoming Events and Upcoming Special Dates, both show Birthday and
Anniversaries, even when disabled from settings.
I even tried:
1. Uncheck birthday and anniversary checkboxes
2. Quit kontact
3. anokadictl stop
4. Open kontact
Birthday and Anniversaries still show up in both Upcoming Events and Upcoming
Special Dates.
I am using Kontact 5.7.3 on Archlinux
