activate konsole panel
$ mkdir /tmp/otto
$ cd /tmp/otto
$ touch {001..500};time read -p "Hit enter when files show up"

CPU usage is at maximum during this
Observations in ksysguard:
- dolphin's cpu usage stays normal
- apparently a lot (500 my guess) of net processes are spawned that end
immediately
If repeated with files already present the result is about the same, if not
worse.
