I too would like to see it go faster, so I share your frustration. One thing that would be great if you could confirm the proposed patch to valgrind here [0] does actually fix the bug you reported. Note: you may well hit another subsequent bug, perhaps even reported already here on bugs.kde.org, but if you no longer see the existing error message that would be a great help to know.
